[bodytext] => To admit a mistake-Can be very tough…
To just say I’m sorry-Is not quite enough.

I can do both-Tho’ that’s hardly the mend…
I have yet to rebuild-The broken heart of a friend.

Betrayal is ugly-No rules defining repair.
Stealing a friendship so beautiful-Now the mask of regret I must wear.

As I am the one-Who brought on this grief…
Your sorrows are true-Your anguish, no relief.

How do I fix it? I have yet to find…
This regret looms over me-Every day in my mind.
I would ask for forgiveness-But shame steers my soul.
Now I live daily-However, not whole.

I go through the days-Thinking so often of you…
Wishing you wellness, And missing you, too.

A friendship so special-Beyond any compare,
That I had destroyed-This is my cross to bear.

I wish I could erase-The indecorum I committed…
Yet, I can’t take it back, I won’t ever be acquitted.

I want to reach out-To attempt redemption…
But my own disgrace, Brings me only preemption.

For I am the guilty-I am the blighted …
Solely to blame, With remorse I am cited.

I think of the good times-So many there were…
I swallow my tears, Now in sadness I stir.

I hope that someday-Our paths will again cross,
And you can forgive me, Until then, I’m lost.

Your friendship is priceless-To me, there’s no limit…
Part of my life, now missing-I’d give anything to have you back in it.
