For friendship flows ever free
A long time past and present yet
Though a kindling flame there still set
Until there came a chance meeting
And my heart was barely beating
Two star-crossed fates would revive
Slowly burning, struggling to survive
The flame grew, at least for one

One by one sands of time fell
A meeting of sorts, dare I tell
Suddenly a spark did flare
An explosion in my soul was there
My eyes deceived and breath lost
To save the moment at any cost
For my dreams you would fulfill
If only her beauty stood so still
The flame grew, at least for one

Soon took place a second meeting
Water bubbling,
feelings brewing
So hot and steaming
Happiness and fullfilled need
Smoothly flowing and gaining speed
No longer sunk was my heart
My spirit soared and clouds did part
The flame grew, at least for one

So much fun with her I had
No single moment with her was bad
Worries lifted and spirit free
Only with her I longed to be
Two heart intertwined, at least I thought
But winds shifted, my spirit caught
I was deceived at least I think I was
No longer did I have that buzz
The flame died, at least for her

The day came when words I would dread
"Head over heals in love" were what I read
Words from her lips about another
My spirit died as I did shudder
A hopeless romantic with crazed ideals
Life's not as easy as in the reels
In a perfect world it would be
That she would really care for me
Alas, the flame died, at least for her

I wish I would've told her
The things I never seem to share
My true feelings locked away
In a lead box marked "handle with care"
So that I may never get hurt
Yet it always seems to fail
I gave my heart away
And now my soul does wail
The flame has died, at least for her

I want her to read this
To let her know that I care
If she had given me a chance
With her, my heart I would share
The royal treatment was hers
A queen she would be
But her love is locked
And I have no key
The flame has died, at least for her

So As the song states:
"And so it goes
until the day you die
This thing they call love
is gonna make you cry"
I wish her the best
And hope that she sees
The things she has missed
For the flame has died, at least for one [comments] => 1 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 22 [informant] => shadowed [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )
