I can see through the fog,
and it’s wise to invest
in the ivory trade right now,

And I see the people smiling
and there is no fear of flying
and the clouds are whisked away
with a whisper of the wind.

Oh, my world is topsy-turvy,
full of radishes and scurvy,
but its hardly worth aborting
after fifteen years of flirting,

And my world was torn asunder
by an ancient lady’s blunder,
though alas the light of Pharos
cuts the lies of mighty Pharaohs.

Three chickens for a goat,
and a pound of common stock,
leave you wishing, while you’re waiting,
for the fortitude to talk.

While one-upmanship in giving
grants one honors at its best,
there’s no wisdom in the heart disease
that sits inside your chest.

Oh, my world is topsy-turvy,
full of radishes and scurvy,
but its hardly worth aborting
after fifteen years of flirting,

And my world was torn asunder
by an ancient lady’s blunder,
though alas the light of Pharos
cuts the lies of mighty Pharaohs.

So relax and get some ice cream,
rowing gently down through life’s dream
and just past the seventh sea,
you’ll find innocence and glee,

And a life that’s so worth living
(Office work is hardly living.)
as enlightenment surrounds you
and your adult ways astound you. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Butterat_zool [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

You must be such a fun person to know! Then again I'm a sucker for metered verse so I'm probably biased. But your stuff is very refreshing, very real. Not sure if your words even mean anything or if they're supposed to be whimsical but, of course, I figure out my own meaning and it's... very cool.
