seeps in from down the hall.
I hear the thud of the drunkard
as he tries not to fall.
"Mommy I can't go to sleep
due to all the scary noise."
She sits upon my bed coyly
and this is what she says.

Turn your head against the wall;
go to sleep.
Do not listen to the noise
that surrounds you.
I am hear with you my son;
do not fear.
No harm will ever come to you
when I am near.

The neighbors scream across the hall
as they fight.
I hear police sirens sing loud
pursuing crime.
Her hand is gently on my head,
the other sits upon my shoulder.
She gets up from my bedside,
as she gently speaks to me.

Turn your head against the wall;
go to sleep.
Do not listen to the noise
that surrounds you.
I am hear with you my son;
do not fear.
No harm will ever come to you

I am so sorry Archie for your loss of your Mother. I so dread the time mine has to go. Mother's can instill the most amazing faith and feeling of warmth, love and safety with just their loving touch and words. Bless you.

Rita

Very nice tribute to an obviously well loved mother. I'm sure she's in heaven smiling down on you and telling everyone she see's how proud she is of your talent. Thanks for your comment on To a loving mother-skinsfan.
