Array ( [sid] => 4678 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Please [time] => 2002-10-06 13:30:00 [hometext] => [bodytext] => Please don't tell me that I am crazy
For being myself,
Please don't say that you were sorry
When that's not how you felt,
Please don't package up lies
In pretty little bags,
Because regardless what you think I know,
I can see past those tags.
Please don't tell me you love me,
When I know that I just weight you down,
And please don't tell me that I need to smile
When all you do is just frown.
Give me some time and some space
If you please,
Because regardless of what you think,
I just need some time for me.
For once I want to be, what I want to be,
And I want to achieve something for my own,
And I could care less if you approve,
Because for once I'm going to say that I'm grown.
You haven't been here to help me through
All my childhood days,
And then through my teenage years
I've always made my own way.
You tell me that you've tried to be involved
In what was my childhood,
And to that I have to laugh,
Because you always said "I would if I could."
Well why you were "resting"
From a hard week
I was playing basketball
Way down the street,
And while you were reading
The bible at night
I was writing poetry that never wanted to hear,
Am I right?
Or shall I keep going...
You didn't want to help me study for school,
And when I got anything wrong
You called me a fool,
I was expecting to hold down
My own job
Caring for children ages two and six,
But when they made messes you called me a slob,
So now I'm a waitress making my pitiful,
Sorry little wage,
But I pay all my bills,
And I scrimp and save.
You refuse to help us out,
And all you do is yell,
So please don't tell me that I'm insane,
For once, you're the one that I am going to tell
How you have done something wrong,
And how you've upseted me,
So please just walk away,
That all you have ever done for me. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 6 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )
