Too many words left unsaid. Left Untied
Falling through levels of pain
that entwine my core
Slowly numbing. Turning to stone
That part of me that used to feel

Surrounded by faces with eyes averted
Words raining down unheard. Unneeded
Block out a world of hurt and lies
and retreat within
To a place less real. A place of safety
But a place as temporary as life itself

Grasping desperately to the moment in time
To your scent, your warmth
The sun on your face
But will the smell fade? Your touch turn cold?
Now that the sun has set
beyond your horizon
And left my world in the shadows
Where you once gave light

Laying alone at night in an oversized bed
Trying to sleep away the hurt but not dream
Reliving the moment played out in my mind
Like a bad B-grade that does not do justice
To the love that you gave
And the life that they stole

Need to break the shackles left behind
Tying me to this place to battle with myself
My mind waging war on the memories
As I sit here alone in this house
Surrounded by pain
And everything reminds me of you...... [comments] => 2 [counter] => 158 [topic] => 39 [informant] => jt [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
