Floating Away

Sitting in the front seat of the car
Speeding by all signs
in no particular direction
Letting go from all troubles on my mind
And not worrying
about what I forgot to mention
I don't feel the wind on my skin
But I get a clear scent of speed
Not anymore being lost
in carrying for somebody else
Now I know just what I need
For someone so ungrateful
I would've given my life before
But when I realized how
fast I was floating away
I decided to stop taking it slow
Almost gave you a chance to escape
But I pulled out first
Though sad, but nonetheless aware
I wasn't enough to satisfy your thirst
So here I am, driving on
Not letting in you or any regret
I will cherish the happy moments
And with a smile move on from what was bad

it must have taken a lot of strength to walk away but it seems like it was for the best. i like the fact that at the end you seem to have a positive outlook to the future. it just reinforces how strong you really are and that's very admirable as is your talent for writing poems |

I like this. You have an attractive way with phrases and expressing yourself, which is apparent in this piece.
Well done. |
