Array ( [sid] => 46259 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => She Found Heaven.... [time] => 2004-05-05 04:35:47 [hometext] => I don't know where this came from. I started humming, and actually sat down to write and song, and I wrote this... [bodytext] => Monday, she turned seven.
She felt like she was in heaven.
Tuesday, daddy went away,
she cried and begged him to stay.
Wednesday and Thursday,
The teachers didnt see the bruise,
The evidence of child abuse.
Friday, mommy overdosed.
an orphan now 'cause she lost them both..
Saturday, she prayed and prayed,
'daddy come back, before they take me away'.
Sunday, she sat alone,
Even too afraid to touch the phone.

A week went by,
and this child of only seven,
lost everything,
and became an orphan.

The school became suspicious,
when she failed to attend
They paid her a visit
found the mother who was dead.

And the girl in the corner,
who was starved and afraid.
and helped her find her daddy,
who was glad she was okay.

Monday, they went fishing.
daddy hugs and kisses.
Tuesday, drove her to school.
made her laugh by being a fool.
Wednesday and Thursday,
he read her a bedtime story.
and eggs woke her up in the morning.
Friday, they visited the grave,
'I love you mommy' and flowers they laid.
Saturday, he took her to the park,
and played on the swings until dark.
Sunday, they went to pray,
and she thanked God
For bringing daddy back to stay...

A week went by,
and this child of seven,
found something long lost,
she found heaven.

A really good poem... This one's strangely different from a lot of your other stuff, which means that you're growing as a poet and doing a good job of expanding your horizons... These little bits that are written on a whim are usually my favorites, and i've found that they usually come out well too... Thank you for sharing this. Butterat Zool.

Great song, much better than when you were venting. Although things are hard I believe good things will happen for you.
