Where the sun doesn’t shine,
In the evening it would never get totally dark.
In the blink of an eye,
You could dim out the sun, and the rain would start.

I could pace down the street, no umbrella in hand,
You would pass by me each day,
And I would meet you again.

We would have long conversations,
At night in the dark,
About the grass, and the trees,
How life would always stay humid,
Alone, and decisive.

How I would never kiss, your slender pale lips,
We didn’t even want to imagine,
How either of us would feel if that happened.

Just when dawn is ready to break,
You would turn to me, smile, and say,
“I know you need to leave, but promise me,
That one of these days you’ll decide not to go.

Meanwhile, we would be laughing,
Singing songs about people who were just like us.
We didn’t want to think that life was this tough.

So catch a raindrop in your hand,
And wish upon one thousand stars,
Tell me once more to swear I’ll come back to you,
And every night we will keep having meetings in the dark.
One of those wishes has to come true.

Tomorrow might not always come,
Forever might not stay this way,
If today ends it all,
There’s something you must know,
It’s that to fall in love with you,
Means the sun could eventually start to shine,
And it could stop raining all the time.
