How many times must I count the stars in falling rain?
How often must I cry to heaven in earthly pain?
When will the mountains crumble to the sand below?
Since when does a human know all there is to know?
When walking on eggshells and dancing on glass,
How are we ever sure when danger has passed?
How long is the road, and which way do we turn?
Will an abandoned fire still burn?
A soul like mine needs a guiding light.
So I'm reaching for heaven and holding on tight.
But this place isn't what they said it would be...
Without angel's wings, how are we free?
Tears of crystal are pouring from my eyes.
My heart no longer needs wings to fly...
