Glass Tears

Contributed by xXbluXstarrXx on Tuesday, 4th May 2004 @ 04:36:36 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

tears falling because of the past,
across my face like broken glass
i can't let go, i can't go on
my passion for life is now gone
the warm tears turn to ice
my own blood, i sacrafice
so cold, i quiver as my eyes freeze
a thoughtless gaze takes over me, my desease
glass tears cut through my skin
i cry with the belief living is my worst sin
the color bleeds from me, i live in grey
grace leaving with the colors washed away
i look in the mirror, an angel in disguise
look to the world, the sight breaks my glass eyes
shattering tears across my face
bleeding as i fade from this place
i supress the pain from my darkest days
if i'm not at fault then why am i the 1 who pays
the guilt of silence burns in my mind
praying time would just rewind
so i can fix this night,
and all the nights i was afraid to turn off the light
i dream in vain
i dream to escape my pain
i talk to myself because there's no one else by my side
just my broken heart and the tears that i've cried
every night when i go to bed
i pretend there is someone there,
some one to let me know i'm not dead
some one who actually cares
but when i wake i'm still alone
my voice speaks with a deadened tone
the day then ends, the night creeps in
my cries of agony again begin
when can i sleep atlast?
when can i stop bleeding from these tears of glass

So much pain in this one, and well conveyed. I hope that the speaker hasn't lost all hope, for that is something we could all use.
Glad I stumbled across this one
