And I think they might be right
They say I deserve better
To stop putting up a fight

But they don’t know the things I do, about you
How you laugh when the snow hits the steps
The way you cry to slow songs, all night long
Because they make you forget

Dear Anne Marie, won’t you come back to me
These pink pills don’t feel the same without you here
Dear Anne Marie, won’t you come back to me
Don’t let me drown in this ocean of years
Long gone

I’ll drive all night to find you
Coast to coast just to remind you
This is all there is to live for

If I don’t see you again
This might be the end
What the hell was all of this for

Dear Anne Marie, won’t you come back to me
These pink pills don’t feel the same without you here
Dear Anne Marie, won’t you come back to me
Don’t let me drown in this ocean of years
Long gone

I can’t see you from this skyscraper
But I can see straight down
Soon I’ll be like my hope for us
Falling to the ground

They don’t know the things I do, about you
How you laugh when the snow hits the steps
The way you cry to slow songs, all night long
Because they make you forget

LOVE it. James, this is really good. You have such a talent. I'm so glad you decided to share this one. Great poem. What the hell is anything for? Loved each and every line from this one.

This reminds me of an "Oasis" song......LOL They are one of my favorite bands so that is a compliment. I loved it - especially the title......so sad and luring. Great write!
Thanks for sharing!
