Derived from death, the silence calls
Each whispered word, a broken trust
From ash to ash and dust to dust

As time flows by, reflections taunt
When graveyards creep, the memories haunt
My rose to die at snowflakes touch
To lose all life within the clutch

A withered rose, this is my breath
To chant within my dance of death
My soul is lost, within embrace
Captured, lost, without a trace

This epitaph, illusion true
A tombstone of engraved taboo
My rose to lie enwrapped in trust
When ash to ash and dust to dust

'From Roses... to Dust'

Well I was about to leave for the night and I saw the title and author and couldn't resist.

You have mastered the ability to paint images in my mind. When I read your poetry, like this one it stays in my mind long after reading it.

The opening enthralled me and I read it 3 times!

A remarkable poem to be proud of.

Kie

It is your always flawless rhythm, your depth of thought and your precise rhymes that make you a top notch writer my friend. Your talent is amazing.

Very well done, but they always are ;o)

As delicate as your rose, yet as imposing as your illusory epitaph. Enthralling reading.
I like.

Mr. Luke, you have REALLY outdone yourself. This is beautiful in it's simplicity. The flow and rhyme are amazing. I loved it. But the lines, "A tombstone of engraved taboo" and "When ash to ash and dust to dust" were some of the best I have ever read EVER! Thank you much for this masterpiece.

Luke, I have to tell you something...with this very poem, you have cemented yourself in the upper echelon, the elite of YPDC.

This is the strongest rhythm i've seen from you yet--it is nearly flawless. And the depth, in both imagery and subject, is profound. What else can I say...it's a true work of art and a pleasure to read.

Truly,
-V.S.
