Jealousy, a friend.

in the light of night, I stand awake, outside her room. The slow light embraces her warmly, and I sit in hiding, chilled by my madness. If she were an ornament, without a will, she'd sit in my pocket, for none to see, for me to caress, to embrace. But alas she is not, she has will, and strong at that. Jealousy is a dangerous friend, it allows only the sight of her, and a trust that she is mine. I cry imagining her in the eyes of another, and now as I see her gently stroking her hair, I become red blooded, angry that she is so beautiful, and that the world wants so much of her, and i cannot take the pain or the thought, that she will be so loved by others. I cannot bear the thought, that she might not always be mine alone. I cannot forget her, this beauty, this masterment of beauty, and her love, for truly, it is my curse. and my ultimate demise.

I don't know why, but this poem touched me very much. I can relate so well to what you have written. Amazing job. |
