From The Moment

Did you know when I first glimpsed
The special beauty of your soul?
When the breath of destiny
Moved my heart and took control?

It was the moment I realized
Your heart was unlike any other I knew
Who without reservation could grant compassion
Love and understanding too

In these years that followed
There’s nothing to make me change my mind
Your heart is still full of compassion
And a love that is kind

Today I am still unworthy
As I was those years ago
To be cherished by such a heart
It humbles me so

But from the moment we met
You first called my name
My life was changed
And will never be the same

From that moment your love helped me
Every step of every mile
And I see the beauty of destiny
Every time I see you smile

Russ

Straight from the heart, Russ, that is how I like my love poems. You have given a beautiful tribute to a great young lady. I wish you the very best.
