that doesnt mean just at school
or in the afternoon
i will alway be here night or day
waiting for your tune

so pick up the phone and give me a call
no matter what the time
i will always try and answer
it only costs a dime

i know we've had our quarels
but i am always here
just because we're mad doesn't mean

I like this -- it expresses the state of mind perfectly ---

I'm not sure that the state of mind is particuliarly helpful -- but if that's where you are that's where you are --

This is truely what friendship means. I hope that this person realizes what a warm and special friend they have in you.
