I remember back in the Summers of old
When I was Sir Knight, gallant and bold
The brave captain of HMS climbing frame
Those hot days when life was a big game
I remember those walks with all my family
Those lazy days, the rickety house in the tree
Out playing with mates till late in the park
Days lasted forever and it never got dark
I remember holidays away with my grandparents
Sister and I in the garden making chair tents
The sun beating down, melting our ice creams
Lying on the grass, absorbed by the daydreams
Now those days have gone, a distant memory
Those days where we were happy and carefree
Life moves on, everything we love fades away
Like the Summer season, it all ends someday

Sweet nostalgia, well described. Don't we all long for our childhood when it's over..?
