One step closer
Takes me two jumps back,
Away from my goal,
My dream.

You say everything is O.K.,
That nothing is wrong.
I was determined to seek the truth,
But my strength falls at the sound of your voice.

It seems that,
By pulling you closer,
Is only pushing you further away.

I was to help,
To spark the hope inside,
To rid you of your burdens,
To free you from the pain.

Even if your burdens,
Are centered around me,
That I'm the cause of that pain in your heart.

I'd rather have you happy,
Than suffer through your life,

Free From Pain, Free From Me

One step closer
Takes me two jumps back,
Away from my goal,
My dream.
