In a back alley,
A cat looms over
A dumpster, old and rusty.
Full of garbage
The garbage truck drove by
Not too long ago…

At first I thought this was written by some nut in the middle of the night, and it's probably the only poem on here that I read right through without feeling that I should look for a deeper meaning. Only having read it did I think that it was too obvious, and it made me think about whether I should be thinking about it... which lead to me thinking about wether i should be thinkin about thinkin about it. To confuse me THIS much impressed, that I'm beginning to see this as one of the deepest poems around in its own right. So nice one!! =) |
