Array ( [sid] => 44086 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I Took Only My Share [time] => 2004-04-20 17:52:56 [hometext] => An unproductive marriage, with the exception of a giving birth to a daughter gives way to these words. [bodytext] => I took love, but only my share....I gave the rest to you,
but you wasted my gift, you didn't have a clue,
that together, it could have been fine,
had it been shared, between your heart and mine.

The kiss that was wasted, the night's all alone,
when you thought work was more important than home.
My pillow often damp, my eye's filled with tears,
knowing that I wasted so many years.

So, the love you gave though small in our youth
I've kept locked inside, my heart knows the truth.
I would have taken less than my share,
had only you realized, I needed you there.

Asleep in our bed, or your hand holding mine,
assuring my fears, that all would be fine.
A kiss in the morning, fiery passion at night
would have made life, somehow....alright.

Now my share is locked deep inside
and your share has gone somewhere and died.
So....what do I do with the half that is mine,
after all I promised, it would always be thine?

Beautiful and sad and reminiscent of my marriage. I don't know what to say except use the love for yourself and your child. Some people just put their perspectives in the wrong order in life. Welcome back, June, hope you had a nice trip.

That's so sad... and sadly, I know where you're coming from. Wonderfully written, you're making me all sad...lol.

Admiration and awe for one so true, a love so beautiful the pain of loyality will have rewards forever and ever, never will you feel the pain of lonliness.

beautiful sweet poem of confession, you are one in a million and very rare.

Thank you.
