Array ( [sid] => 44070 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Forever Lost [time] => 2004-04-20 16:01:09 [hometext] => This poem is inspired by 1 Peter 2:11....God calls me to be an alien to the world! [bodytext] =>
I am a lost soul wandering
In this deserted place
I know not where I stand
Nor which enemies I''ll face.

The sword of truth
Is my only tool
To help me fight,
To get me through.

An alien to the world
I don''t fit it
I walk in righteousness
They live in sin.

I run away
Yet they seem to follow
Enticing me with
Their ways of horror.

I shun evil
And throw aside frivalry
For I prefer peace
Over pain and misery.

I know now where I stand
And I stand here firm
For I''m in God''s arms
And am safe and secure.

I shouldn''t fit in
With a world of hate
So I continue my journey
To Your waiting gate.

I''ve traversed for so long
But I''ve found You at last
I look into the future
I reflect on the past.

Your gentle eyes
And caring face
Are filled with love,
Forgiveness, and grace.

Thanks for Your Love
And waiting so patiently
For me to run from my sin
And seek You fervently.

Now I am forever lost
Lost in Your glorious face
Lost in Your holiness
Lost in your Almightly grace. [comments] => 9 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 62 [informant] => eatfresh22 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 45 [ratings] => 9 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => spiritual )

Very good Carrie! I thought this poem was really encouraging for me to stand up and be a stranger to this world. Sometimes we just want to fall and fit in with everyone else but yeah good poem!
Keep writing, Jacob

Excellent write! One of my favorite verses, Hebrews 11:13, has a similar concept- being strangers in this world :-)
It's good to be an alien on such a strange planet. How thankful I am to know this wretched earth isn't home!
