Listening to the mid-day waves crash against the shore,
I watch as the sun rises into the sky,
Casting its light onto the earth,

The people sit in there offices,
Working for some ‘great cause’,
The children sit in school,
Learning how to make a future for them-selves,
So one day they to can join there parents working for the ‘cause’,

What is the cause they will be working for,
Is it for peace,
Is it to help there fellow man,
Is it to stop the child crying because of the pain of hunger,
Is it to help those with out shelter who live on the streets,
Is it to give water to those who need it,

No,
It’s to fill their own pockets,
To secure ‘their’ future,
To make sure their children have everything they don’t need,
So they can invest it so the human cities can grow crushing any animal that gets in their way,
To pleasure their lives with the company of others who will leave and forget about them.

I sit here alone,
Listening to the evening waves crash against the shore,
Watching the sun setting in the nights sky,
Giving way to the moon,
