in the sunset's rim, when moonlight glimmered dim,
to the dawn when i chanted my own weird hymn,
where silence masters all, and light my footsteps fall,
beneath the moon; i heard a hauntingly captivating tune,
upon the earth where great longings are;
when dreams doth seem so far,
i passed through the path of the mist;
like a pale spirit by spirits kissed,
here until the end of time lastingly long;
heard in the whispers of the winds song,
came spirits of the forest and of nature;
gathering all small and great creatures,
though forest somewhat dark and drear;
i listened closely; from creatures you may hear,
givin nary a thought to enchantments seen;
enterin; he walked in slowly wearin cool green,
he calmly petted some wild beasts;
waved his hand and there was a feast,
cuppin his hands he scooped up sleep;
way inside the forest deep,
all earthly creatures rested with ease;
under gentle breeze and mystic trees,

there they all sat under the mighty oak;
the unicorn gave the dragon a poke,
the whippoorwills came from beyond the hills,
the owl too, he ate his fill,
then along came mousie bess;
smoothly ridin in on the wings of pegasus,
with light like hope to mortals given;
spirits of dead in life again stood before me livin,
round quiverin moonbeams faeries played;
singin whistful songs of lovelorn melodies,
hanging the stars like seeds of light;
there is nay anything more bright,
ever boastin their bright creative fires;
above constraint my poetic soul aspired,
of mighty wonderful things that came to pass;
it was like sweetest dewdrops upon the grass,
then moon of enchantment no longer shone;
because the faeries and lord of woods had gone,
after a night long; hearts were blazing like new dawn;
forest beings all had a great yawn,
when i left squirrels were laughin over acorn wine;
yeah, said they, this spring meeting was fine,
i called to these dwellers by the forest's door;
hearing their voices along the forest floor;
my hearts enchantment evermore.

The pictures are wonderful (where do you get them? how do you get them on?) and the words, the poetry...is magical. It takes me somewhere I wish I always was. Great description, excellent style. A masterpiece as always.

"it was like sweetest dewdrops upon the grass,

By the time I got to these three lines I was hopelessly enchanted. I thought the picture was excellent to enhance the imagery. You have an artistic gift for choosing the write picture.

Oh and I loved the title. I just wanted to jump inside the poem.

Well done..

Kie

oh so charming and full of great lore - I had to take a peek out to the woods to make sure - there were no faieires dancing or Lords of the Wood carrying on - but I did see a couple of squirrels acting rather odd.
A wonderful celebration of nature
