[bodytext] => A broken little girl
lost in her pale world
skipping white pebble stones
forever lost and feeling alone
the gate across the door
has fallen to the floor
learned the lesson indeed
warnings to never heed
ran to the middle of the street
right where reality and dreams meet
skirted every issue
crying..... but never wanted to
fears bely the truth
actions deny the uncouth

if pennies were wishes
and laughter were riches
i'd live a day past tomorrow
and give fate back to the borrowed

palm fronds in the aisle
addiction is it's own denial
the past regresses you free
but can you believe all you see
questing for bliss
losing out on what you miss
tears cast the shadows
and faith can be so shallow
right or wrong or in between
giving up on a drama scene
left with all that's only green
brown'll do if only to redeem
master the elusive power
and wait for the hope to shower

if dreams were pennies
and days were many
i'd live a day before yesterday
and just let come what may

rejected souls abide
while true beauty only hides
pearly gates and crystal seas
heaven on earth the valued plea
preach an olive branch
principle on your stance
guilt is for the weary
power to make you dreary
solace in your peace
death within defeat
sustenance to create
experience madame fate
fill the empty voids
love's calm employ

if fate is to be damned
and empty years rudely fanned
let me find peace in a vice
just blow and roll the dice

thrown in the towel
wear the lonely scowl
take the trip so far north
mark your steps hence forth
cast yesterday a jaded pearl
only smiles for the little girl
to gaze from the green eyes
a place where all the truth relies
partake of this wicked journey
assuage the painful yearning
curse the evil's darkened lair
forgive her for never being fair
rest in the peaceful garden
hush now........before she hardens

if fateful years are lost
and sanity has been tossed
gamble what's left of the dime
with fate being your only crime [comments] => 4 [counter] => 162 [topic] => 48 [informant] => jaeann [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 19 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
