Though the bottle has been empty for so many years, it's magic still lingers on
like a melody upon her skin, and the words of an old love song.
Her eyes need only to gaze upon this precious bottle, to open up her mind
as she remembers how it touched another with it's fragrance, it being only one of a kind.
She wore it on her delicate breast, her finger tips placed it gently behind each ear,
always when she knew....her love was very near.
Though soft and subtle, the scent drifted everywhere,
he thought it most pleasurable in her long flowing hair.
In the moonlight shining from high above, he swore there were roses in the night,
as he took her in his arms and held her, much to her delight.
The cap now is closed, the empty bottle on her bureau long has stood,
but she would fill it up again....if she only could.

Ah, yes, fragrances and music. It is marvelous how they can take us back instantly to certain marvelous times of life. Beautiful memories never forgotten. Treasured time to be softly cherished forever. I will never forget my husbands cologne and aftershave. That scent brings back the good times. Lovely write.
