Array ( [sid] => 4326 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Prisoner [time] => 2002-09-27 06:50:00 [hometext] => This one has the same name as a poem posted yesterday, when I read the first line of the other poem, this is what I envisioned, and I was way off… clearly this has absolutely nothing to do with the people involved in the other poem, it’s just how I saw it when I had read no more than eight words. And it still amazes me that some people put up with this, but they do…who knows why? [bodytext] => If I hold you, then I own you,
Hold on to your heart, and clasp your soul too,
You know you will do everything I ask of you,
My life is mine, and yours is mine too.

So you want more freedom? Why should you have it?
If you’re going some place, you’ll tell me where God damn it!
You stay with me, do what I say and stay true,
Don’t cry baby, you asked for the bruises I gave to you.

Don’t you get it, you’re not as important as me,
You’ll always be unnoticed and you’ll never be free.
You can’t be your own person, or who you want to be,
Don’t make me tell you again, you belong to me.

So why do you make me do what I do?
You think I like being mad, and getting angry with you?
I don’t owe you an apology, nor should I need to be there,
Why should I treat you well? Don’t you see that I don’t care?

All the things I say about you, I have you believing,
Your failure to stand up to me is another sign of your weakness.
The way you think of me, is someone for you to live for,
To me you’re not someone to love, to me you’re just a prisoner.

Being abused is being a prisoner, until you get enough nerve and maybe some help to move onward. I know, I've been there. Good write, perhaps one to learn from, for those who are going thru it, need to move on, but just don't have the nerve. sometimes, an outside source can help, if they let it. I had to seek help, otherwise, I'd still be there, maybe even dead.
But there is always room to love, even in abuse.... Yeah, I still remember those times before He attacked me, hurt me. Those are the times of before to love. I am in the process of learning to forgive him, so I can move onward, but that dosen't mean I let me be a carpet for anyone to stand on, not by any means. ONe learns, one learns alot from these type of messages, some lived it. Good write...
