loneliness, bobbing right at the top of
the water, yearning for a small
breath of air but still stuck looking
up at the bright, shining sun from
right below the water. It seems
like I’ve lingered there for an eternity
before the water in my lungs begins
to weigh me down. It’s a shallow
grave in the murky water, but I am
still aware of my surroundings. The
burning in my lungs ceases and
the air and water in my lungs
becomes still. My body hunches over
and falls numb. What a wonderful
feeling that is. It seems like it’s
been forever until they yank my
body from the watery depths.
The pressure on my body is lifted
and I appear to be light as a
feather. The paramedic blows a strong
relief into my lungs and I grasp
on as tight as I can and suddenly
return to reality with a harsh
cough full of water. And suddenly
I don’t feel so alone. The hand that
pulled me from my grave also
helped me by restoring my faith
in people for one split second.

A very intriguing write. I might try to avoid repeating words. Just a bugaboo of mine. If it doesn't bother you, ignore me. I could feel that moment of restoration. You have portrayed this richly.

Strange the hands of fate, who will reach out before its too late. What will be saved, is what will go on, to inspire and delight so many each night. Beautiful and hopeful write. Thanks for sharing.
