It makes you think where you stand in the relationship you have.
Sure, you're important too, but no as important as you'd wished.
You accept his judgement, but feel as if you're in the background of his life, only included in one part..
He turns to you and says, 'i love you, sweetheart'
Some comfort, re-assurance, makes you feel good inside, that is, for a while.
Things start to get worse, you're feeling pathetic, un-sure and suicidal.
You're told to move on, forget about the past, have a new life..
Your mind tells you to ignore the good advice, you start to reach for the knife..
Too many let downs, too much strife...
You feel the sharpness of the blade against your skin, about to commit a deadly sin...
Knowing inside, the pain will fade, somehow you still feel afraid,
Of what he will feel, what he will loose, see your death as an excuse,
He realises he was in the wrong, your place was at his side, where you truly belong.
Too late for change, only time to arrange,
Your farewell to the world, once a cruel, lonly place for you
Now there is no hurt, no more feeling lower than dirt.
The music echo's through the souls of those who cared, they know your life could have been spared... Hello and welcome to YPDC. I enjoyed reading your poem and it was very sad. The emotion transferred from this poem just spoke volumes to me.

Well done!
