i would give everything i own,
give up my heart, mind, life, soul, home,
just to be with you again; see your smile,
hear your laughter, even if but for a while,
since you died and gone on nothings the same,
you are a warm breath of spring during cold frost,
whilst i am hangin' here at times by this fraying rope,
i am caught up in some yesterdays feeling of hope,
deep inside of me i feel you are always here with me,
since first we met i knew, i would always love you true,
no other love has ever compared, come close, or dared,
to touch the flame of never ending sweet love we shared,
for to me you are; as crystal diamonds upon the snow,
endless winds that freshly blow, gentle falling rains,
you are my hope restored within me again and again,
my heart's sweet uplifting rush; mornings whispered hush,
mountain stars shining brightly at night, little birdling in flight,
evenings, and so many times i wish you could still hold me tight,
you are never gone, for you are with me like a beautiful song,
on wings of love you come to me; from beyond my sea of dreams,
i hear the beat of your heart, when this forest becomes dark.

I felt a deep sadness while reading this poem, A true love never dies one day you will reunite and be a family again. My deepest feelings of sympathy go out to you and yours. Guard your precious memories until such a time. Deep in your heart is the strongest safe that ever was made.

Your poem brought tears to my eyes. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I could feel the pain emitting from this poem. Yet you found beautiful words to remember a husband you loved deeply.

Nessa, this is so filled with longing, hurt and passion for him. Exquisitely beautiful topped off with the perfection of the haunting picture. You bare your soul for us to see what true love can really be. I too am so sorry for your loss. He is with you all the time and you will be together again.

| awww vanessa i am so sorry for you lost... you are such a sweet lady that its ashame that such sorrow was brought into your life. but remember that you still have ur children and that you were blessed with them to enable you to remmber the good times and not the bad. im sure he is looking down from heaven smiling rays of sunshine onto you and your family and is very proud of you and the work you have written in his honor.. :) |

This poem was so touching! It didn't make me cry,it left a longing in my heart, and my husband is still alive. that is. But it made me think of all the 22 years we spent together.Good times and bad. Ok now I'm crying. lil lol.

Two songs came to mind when I read your poem and I thought this quote from one of them would be appropriate.

The memories of loved ones help us to carry on even after they are gone. For me it is the memories I have of listening to music with my dad that keeps his memories alive and lets me know that he loved me. You have a great poem here.
