brightness turned and rode away
She has led this lonely life
tried her best to make it right
looks like now it's here to stay

Can't see what has gone all wrong
doesn't know what she should say
If she could she'd change it all
make it what she thought it was
life would not be dark today

Ain't no sunshine in her home
blinds are pulled...she's hid away
Has she given up the fight
she's not sure what's wrong or right
can't let the world see her this way

Wonder how she'll make it through
she feels that she is all to blame
She should have it all somehow
doesn't know if she can now
won't it all just stay the same

Ain't no sunshine in her home
she has wrapped herself away
Won't she please just take a chance
come on outand take a glance
see all there is...come out to stay

She has not taken down the blinds
at least she has pulled them to the side
All it takes is a small step
come and take that cleansing breath
there is no reason you must hide

Ain't no sunshine in her home
that's what everyone used to say
Can't say that's true no more
she has broken down that door
and her light shines bright today

She has met most of her fears
found she could chase most all away
She just looked deep inside her heart
knew that though she was a part
it was not her place to stay

Now, there is sunshine in her home
shining bright for all to see
She has let her spirit soar
she's not caged up anymore
finally she is free now...just to be [comments] => 2 [counter] => 475 [topic] => 21 [informant] => S_K_Williamson [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I loved this....after reading your comment above the song sprang to mind and your poem flowed quite nicely with the tune of the song....
