Each reverberating inside my empty heart
Piercing through my very soul
Anguish begins to appear on my pillow
In the form of long retained tears
Unheard agony that will never be relinquished
I lament over the act that left me
In this subdued state, lowest I have ever been

The water drips off the roof in tiny rivulets
Slowly but invariably constant
Paralleling the moisture on my coarse cheeks
Images flash and vanish instantly
Lingering in my mind as if glued
On the black inside of my eyelids
Tormented by the very thought of you
Yet I can not help loving you
