Array ( [sid] => 42948 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Great Release [time] => 2004-04-12 19:23:18 [hometext] => This isn't my best, but I wrote it only to describe an emotion, not to try and make it a good poem...if that makes any sense, please let me know.... [bodytext] => Anxiety, fear, depression,
All swept away
In one fluid emotion
That I now swim in
An overwhelming tingle
Zings from my neck to my toes
And somehow it’s okay
EVERYTHING
I’ve ever said, ever done,
Erased and lost forever
In an eternity far beyond
Any I can ever comprehend
This amazing grace
Hits me harder than
Any brick wall ever could.
I’m so horrible...how could I turn away?
If I had known this eternal love then,
Maybe I could’ve stopped
Before it even started
I let the love speak,
But the hate continues to whisper
The words I know too well
Into my uncontrolling ears
Most of me is certain, but will I ever fully know?
I want to say it can happen,
But I’m doubtful I will ever not question
If this completeness can really
Transform me and kill all
The things that made me
Turn away
I am determined to stay focused
I am too unworthy to return
To the thoughts I once thought
And the things that I knew
Unarmed, and weeping innerly,
He held me up for strength
Another of the fallen returning
For some faith
The most unlikely,
Striven to be hard,
Held in His loving arms…
