like a candle burning bright.

He introduced himself to me,

in my dreams last night.

This was no ordinary being,

this seraph who disturbed my sleep.

He spoke of being my guardian,

and I began to weep.

All the times when I've been troubled,

felt lost and so alone...

He's been right there beside me.

My thoughts to him have been known.

He's cried with me through my sorrows,

he's tried to absorb my pain.

As he stroked my face with a feathered wing tip,

he assured me he will always remain.

Knowing my beliefs and my skepticism,

he reassured me he's been with me since birth.

As understanding began to dawn on me,

he revealed that this won't change after my soul leaves this earth.

"Prove it!" my distrustful side ranted,

"Where were you in my darkest times?".

'As much as I wanted to interfere,'

he whispered, 'I was forced to step back sometimes.'.

He could feel that I remained doubtful,

all to "divine" for me to grasp.

As midnight eyes stared into grey-green,

he guided me through my past.

Showing my darkest hours,

when my soul felt ruined and weak.

He was unseen, but beside me...

mournfully stroking my cheek.

I now understand that he's with me...

through the good times, but especially the bad.

But why did he show himself to me now?

I'm perplexed by this dream that I had.

He's always there..it's just sometimes we are so wrapped up in our everyday lives that we fail to notice him. But he is always there
