As a candle flickers languidly, dark movements on the wall,
Your face is framed in midnight’s mask, light resting on one cheek,
And shapes a vision of desire, you are the one I seek.

I listen raptly to your voice, the way it pulls me near,
The dulcet tones, a sweet caress, breaking through my fear,
Unconsciously I lean to you, this moment takes my breath,
The innocence that once was ours now has seen its death.

Anticipation rears its head, in hope it is full blown,
As I wait for you to feel it too and make your feelings known,
Each moment now eternity, each breath an endless flow,
‘Til the slightest parting of your lips lets your feelings show.

Drawing near I am aflame with passion and desire,
Knowing that you are the one who sets my soul on fire,
And as you close the distance to place your lips on mine,
The velvet shadows in the light romantically entwine.

I have missed the absolute perfection of your poetry my friend. The depth of emotion, the style with which you write........ This is romance at its best and I tip my hat to ya.

Very well done as always
Larry
