Constantly gazing, observing lovers
As they share an embrace or smile.

Today I look upon two lovers
Sitting by a still park fountain
Under a clear blue sky
Surrounded by skyscrapers.

The lovers are sweet,
Keeping to themselves.
Sun beating down on their faces.

A girl laying in the grass
Recongnizes the boy.
It is her first love.
Her heart does not fret of jealousy.
It grins of memories and
Hopes he is geniuely happy,
Wanting the best for him.

Yet she has to notice,
HIm secretly looking at her as well.
A smile on his face, possibly
Wishing her the best too
Or maybe a sign of wanting the past.

His girl also sneaks a look
At her lover's ex.
Paranoid and haunted by their love history.
Glaring because she knows
He is looking a a beauty from his past...
And because it's causing him

Always have had a fascination with love...
Constantly gazing, observing lovers
As they share an embrace or smile.

this is a great poem. i've been there and felt that. to share that last smile with a person you loved so much. this poem really made me smile and think of all those lovely warm feelings thank you.

This is a curious one.... I always have a feeling that I'm intruding on two people in the hallways of my school if I see them together (PDA galore....yuck!) Makes me feel awkward..... But I can totally see where this poem's coming from. It's a neat idea. I like it =)
