Array ( [sid] => 42195 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Fate's Reminder [time] => 2004-04-07 16:25:56 [hometext] => I wrote this poem to actually summarize a major series of events that happened to me over the course of about 7 months. These events are the single most important things that have ever happened to me :) [bodytext] => My life was normal my life was fine
Nothing exciting and no need to whine
I went through school without much pain
Concequently I had little gain
My life was boring, I was smart but shy
Something told me I was living a lie
My life was guided, controlled, constrained
My mother commanded me, my grades should not wane
My behavior must be perfect, my future must be great
This life it sucked, it oh so much I hate
On and on I went through time
Saying little back as if a mime

Till fate decided to teach me a lesson
I was so confused, it kept me guessin
I met this person, a most beautiful girl
I was so infatuated, my mind went a whirl
I loved her so much, she made me happy
My life was perfect, was anything but crapy

Like a bomb in my face, she left me for good
But it was destined to happen, I kinda knew it would
My life went to hell, I was floating in crap
I was depressed for months, blood flowed from my tap
It took my a while to realize why
Someone looked out for me, released me from the lie

I learned alot from pain and depression
To hear what I went through would be at your disgression
The scare of defeat will never be gone
The good thing though, my new life has just dawned
Im happier now, my life is anew
Do I believe in fate, I most certainly do
And I hate to say this about that wonderful girl
She was a tool of fate's will, what a rare pearl
She was majorly important to the life I now live
A life of knowledge to me she now gives
So to fate I say thank you, to her I say wow
Is there anything I can do for her? my help begins now [comments] => 2 [counter] => 167 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Arrundel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I have just read a poem unlike any other, you should really post this on that poetry contest where u could et published, this is utterly amazing, I am at a total loss of words. It makes me wonder what my life is going to be, cause the first part is much like my past. I found the girl i want to marry, but this poem makes me wonder, 'is she really the one for me?' Well done, u got a winner, glad u see through the pain and onto the good in this situation....

'The people walked on by, As if nothing had happened, leaving my dead body floating in a pool of blood.'

Bravo! I wholeheartedly comprehend this poem. I had the same experience with a girl in my life, and I too regard it as the hand of God. It's a wonderful thing to see events like they truly are, and know what they've really accomplished. I wonder how often we don't understand the significance of the things that happen to us.

I do think it might have been bettered if some of the imagery wasn't somewhat vulgar, but that's just me. This was a brilliant piece.
