I slept with the scars from the heights I once flew
Flew, like a liar, from all I held true
Until a hand rife with torchlight rekindled the pyres,
The hand of a goddess, formed from visions of you.

With a smile like curtains on a Victorian stage,
And eyes whispering stories being told from within
Within, our own age, the most sacred of sins
As blood bled from two hearts spills on fresh-fallen page,
It fashions the framework of a Siamese twin.

You appeared as an angel with tear-troubled eyes,
And tongue-punctured wings as you fell from above
Above, fickle skies, like a crestfallen dove
Yet you’ve landed in hands that forestall your cries,
For your heart will feel cherished and safe in my love.
