As I laid down for bed, on that warm
July night. I had thought to myself,
that my life would be better to be,
placed upon a shelf. So many memories,
so many stories, so many that shouldn't be.

Now I am not perfect, but I am just a man.
A man who lets pride get in the way of all,
but sometimes it becomes to much, and even
I have to fall. You may think of me, what
you will, but at some point, your truth
will spill.

Now a man is just a man, is what a woman
would say. So before you judge me for who
I am, or what I have done, or even where
I come from. I think you should take a
long look in the mirror.

Pride is a very hard thing to swallow,
and to tell you the truth, sometimes
a mans heart can be a little hollow.
They say a man should always stand tall,
and never should he fall, but if he
should fall. Then get back up, and
continue to stand tall.

As I laid in that bed, all this ran
through my head. Then I got up, and
looked around wishing for someone, to
help me. Then out of the middle of no
where she came to me.

She was in all ways, nothing but beauty.
She had placed me in her arms, and under
her wings, and from the middle of no
where, she began to sing. The music
was like no kind I have ever heard.

I just smiled and stared into her eyes,
as she smiled back, and said. Now you
may push away some pride, but don't
push all. For some you just shouldn't
hide.

A wonderfully written poem! This also applies to me. I have a lot of pride myself ... It's an acquired taste, to swallow pride sometimes and I'm still developing the taste for it. Like many things, it takes getting used to. I like your honesty! :)
