Array ( [sid] => 4175 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Storm Child [time] => 2002-09-23 19:30:00 [hometext] => This poem, one of my favorites was written about an ex-g/f after a mutual break up. Complicated situation. [bodytext] => Looking out slowly,
I see an ocean,
it seems to have no horizon connecting it to the sky,
just a blue mirrored surface,
the beauty of it amazes me,
as the image comes in to focus ,
a blur becomes a sharp image ,
but so very soft,
it hovers above the surface,
and the figure is mirrored as it's features focus,
I see it is her,
it is the storm child,
her scent fills my senses,
the smell of a thunder storm coming,
the feeling of electricity in the air that energizes,
and the thrill of power that accompanies a storm,
she floats above the ocean with grace,
her form is that of all her naked beauty,
soft curves that remind me of her tender touch on my skin,
hair streaming out behind her with an unfelt breeze,
ethereal wings of white energy expand behind her,
the light is not savage
but as soft of the eyes as her touch on the flesh,
as her feet touch the surface she begins to dance,
creating no disturbance,
as if it where crystal upon which she danced,
her legs loving swiftly and precisely,
but in almost insouciant fashion,
the reflection mirrors her movements,
then she smiles and hours must pass,
as I am transfixed,
cannot finch or turn away,
not wanting to,
the sunless sky sets and stars appear,
the image brings what I think are tears to my eyes,
as it blurs I try to wipe away the fog,
looking down at the surface on which I stand I see that I cast no reflection,
caught deep in to the blackness,
that never ending blackness her reflection still in view,
the fog not clouding her features,
realizing now that the surface is not the ocean,
it is her pupil,
looking deep in to it like through a window,
in to the night sky,
a world unseen,
her form beckoning me deeper,
in to the depths of her soul,
showing me the image of her in it's purity,
her soul embodied,
perfect without the haze of self critique,
revealing to her the beauty she hold from within the eyes of her beholders,
her voice like music rings out as if to an unheard song,
those words of wisdom and care,
as he dance is like the rolling thunder,
beautiful,
powerful,
mystical,
as I look deeper within,
seeing the soul of love,
but hazed by loneliness,
her eyes are beauty and knowledge,
her face is care and compassion,
and her body is love and lust,
Yes she is forever the child of the storm

This is absolutely AMAZING! Awesome use of imagery. You've got my curiosity though ... if you were this enchanted by her (it's obvious that you were, by reading these words), why did you let her slip away?

it is a long story but, it seemed just at the end that one I wasn't ready for the commitment that she wanted at the point in time, and we had seemed to have grown apart. Even though I was as you say 'enchanted' I could see it only leading to pain for the both of us and she could see that too.

You will make my ego in to a monster if you keep feeding it like that. But I don't mind. lol
