As I sat there down beside you, and on my shoulder you placed your head.
That lilted breeze that danced and played, cross the water wide and blue.
Seemed to carry ever stronger
Your words, "I love you too."

We sat and watched the tide carry, our cares and troubles away
As the salty brine splashed and tossed, the seagulls seemed to play.
Such a blueness was in the sky, as if saying this is the perfect time.
To caress and touch you with my deepest love
Oh yes, you a treasure so sublime!

You kissed me ever softly, upon lips that hungered for your touch.
Not petting, not caring but desire hit us with a rush.
We talked of many things that day, of Plato and of Wilde.
And some familiar conversation like;
I wish I knew you as a child.

That day dwells within my heart, the same heart that is ever true.
When we both realized that we have a gift that is given to so few.
A gift of love and of respect and also a shared passion.
Of knowing that each poem we write
is not the perfect fashion.

Yes we kissed so tenderly-my emotions became overwhelmed.
By an intangible experience, mere words can never tell.
It was as real as that day upon the pier, no not a conjured time.
And that moment we shared I think you knew too well.
That my love light was here to shine.

A beautiful poem of love that is ageless and flows as smoothly as a gentle stream in one's mind. Great write, my friend.
