Array ( [sid] => 41124 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => To a friend, to say I'm sorry [time] => 2004-03-31 10:17:12 [hometext] => I wrote this poem for a play I'm trying to write about a girl who killed herself after being taunted alot by her own friends turned popular. This is one of her friends regrets toward what he did. Tell me what you think. [bodytext] => I can’t image why this you would do
And yet I know the reason
I was mean, and I was cruel
But in all my years I never wanted to hurt you

You were, are, my friend
My childhood friend who shared my dreams
You were a sister when I needed you most
Simply a friend when my wins I would boast

I know not who or where you are
For the distance between us is just too far
I know now I know nothing of you
When you knew me to my very core

Forgive me for my sins against you
I did not mean it to go this far
The taunting and teasing and anguish I caused you
Were not my wish at all

Forced to do, yet freely done
I tortured you before
I made you leave the warmth of the sun
You ran for darkness, and lived in light no more

In darkness you found comfort
If but for a while
A tortured soul hidden away in the dark
Huddled up on your bed like a frightened child

I do not know what it is to be tortured as you were
But I do know what torture is
To look at you and know that to you
I cannot say a word

All for the sake of popularity
All for the sake of lies
I tortured you and you left me
In a way, an eye for an eye

Forgive me of my sins
Though I know exactly what I do
Forgive me of my sins
My sins, against you

You are my friend

This is quite sad, but it is really good and enjoyed reading it. Keep up the good work!

What a story! I liked the poem! It's really good! Admitting you're guilty and saying sorry is a very difficult thing but this poem did that and in a great way too!

This poem really broke my heart. You write well but the story was incredibly sad. I found it touching that you wrote this. Kie
