[hometext] => In honour of the release of her new single and her new CD in May, I've decided to write a series of poems inspired by Avril Lavigne's songs. This is #1, inspired by Losing Grip. It's about a guy I was with 2 years ago who that song always reminded me of.
[bodytext] => The beautiful way you looked at me Like there was nothing else you could see All the things you said made me believe That I'd finally found the one who'd never leave You took me in your arms and held on When the one whose heart you held was gone But lurking in the shadowed corners Burned a reminder of the love you still owed her You never knew how deep I'd fallen And when you reduced me to crawling You ignored my arms around your waist Turned away like you didn't recognize my face You said everything would be okay But I feared that wouldn't be the case I held on though you pushed me away You drew my tears, evoked my fears, and didn't stay You left me alone and didn't care Like none of it had ever been there So why should I waste my time on you, All the promises you made and didn't see through? You left me when I needed you most Every night I slept with our love's ghost Dreaming of all the ways you warmed me You locked me in chains and made me think I was free Your touch was so cold that it burned me Your eyes shone so bright they blinded me Wrapped me up and brought me home to keep Then threw me out the moment I started to weep Your lies weren't getting me anywhere How you treated me just wasn't fair Why should I have to trip over you Just so I can take somebody's place and be used? I don't hear what you say anymore I don't want your heart forevermore 'Cause if you don't care then I don't care You'll never know what love is and I won't be there [comments] => 3 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 24 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )
