Reflecting sun off silver roof
Blinding in the morning light
While traffic flows and coffee brews
There is that lingering thought of you
Right or wrong I don’t know
Longing for a reason to say good-bye
To sit here alone soaking in solitude
Like nourishment long denied

Wasted wishes fill the trash
Overflowing relinquished dreams
Self-recrimination is my closest friend
I stayed too long, now cannot end
Doubt crowds emotions into fear
I find myself paralyzed
Stuck to the wall with photographs
Discontent shows in my eyes

Bitter coffee brewed too strong
Chipped cup bears my name
Belongings, shabby in the light of day
Dust finding its way home in my heart
Steady drip of a faucet keeps perfect time
I am here and there and nowhere at all
Scattered myself like ashes
While seeking love far and wide

Chasing rainbows it seems a lark
Abandoning unwanted morals
Until the whole world falls apart
No longer certain of what I seek
Love’s feelings hard to translate
Into daily bread and peaceful sleep
Silence breeds like smothering weeds
Cut off oxygen and nothing grows

Guilty of every transgression, hell holds
Its gates open to greet me with a grin
Knowing I have given in to desire
Of my own free will and testament
Heat rises from the floor of fire
To melt any residue of innocence
Or change of heart that might remain
My fate is sealed in fiery flames

Ahh resignation...an emotion I often tried to accept in my own life.. oft times I too stand before judgement and seeing only hell's fiery fate before me.. my many many transgressions....accepting it is perhaps best... I mean if I am going down I am going to bring others with me...muahaa haa haa haa lets the devils sing..upon this day the earth is my garden of sin! corrupting innocents and th elike..he he he he joking joking...

A very great work here...I feel the undercurent of emotions resigning to fate herein. It really touche dme in some ways...nice one!

it's very difficult for me to comment on this because it was so very much my life too at one time. It brings memories of such turmoil of the soul. (((sis))) Your magical ability to put the deepest of feelings into words so clearly ,astounds me each and every time

Roses at your feet

Once again I feel as if I have lived your life or you mine. More meaningful stuff.
