There was a young girl
Whose loved one left her
And left her in a whirl

She was hurt by this man
Whom she depended on so much
He showed her to love with all that she can
Then left her feeling as iff she'd been punched.

She knew it was coming and waited so long
One day he left and she was then all alone
All the repressed fears when he left did return
Her heart started pounding, her stomach began to churn.

How would she make it?
How would she go on?
She had to pull herself together
Even if he was gone.

After awhile she finally was stable
So strong on her own and definitely so able
To be what she pleases and do what she wants.
However once in awhile he comes back to haunt.

Through a face, a song, even a call.
She still thinks of him after it all.
All the pain he put her through.
All of the times that she felt so blue.

Now she looks back and thinks what a jerk.
"What a jerk I was to depend on him like that!"
To feel love when it wasn't there.
Then to let herself be stomped on like a mat.

So many mistakes she made with that boy
That boy who at one point took away all her joy.
Now she thinks of him and can finally say,
"He's going to end up hurt and alone one day"

To the man with no heart
Who can't tell right from wrong
No matter what pain and hurt you put her through
There is no way she would wish that upon you.

For because of you and all that you've done.
You have taught her how to find the right one.
Not just to settle
And to find so much better.

A man so much better than you'll ever be.
A man who has made her heart feel so free.
To love however she wants
And to see what she really needs to see.

So farewell to the man who had her in chains.
Because of you she will never love the same.
To love without trust was how it used to be.
The true nature of people she now does see. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 200 [topic] => 31 [informant] => makx10 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )
