by heart is in Scotland,
my faded cries
yearn to be in my homeland.

I have never been to Scotland
before in my lifetime,
my soul feels like
it wants to leave
all this I have behind
and follow my heart home.

I hope to one day
take my feet
to where my heart is,
maybe I won't ache
so much inside.

My mind hears
the eerie sounds
of a lone piper
on the green hills,
I know that is
where my heart belongs.

My feet will someday
take me to
where my heart is,
back home where I belong
to my home in Scotland.

This is so heartachingly beautiful. Yes, back to your motherland where your heart resides.
Where the spirits lie filled with the history of your genetic makeup. I love this piece. I do hope you get there one day.
