Wasn't There Something

Contributed by New_York_Chick on Wednesday, 24th March 2004 @ 09:04:38 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I tried to keep my heart from breaking
I knew exactly what I had to choose
But I couldn't prevent you from being taken
Away from me, so now I got nothing to lose

Wasn't there something you could've said
To let me know, so I would've been prepared
Maybe it wouldn't hurt as bad
If I wasn't denying that once you cared

The pieces of my love at your feet
I really need you right now
To shine your light on my street
I'm tripping, but keep on walking anyhow

Wasn't there something you could've done
To lessen the pain you brought on me
So from my life you're gone
But I miss you just as much,
Even though you I don't see

I know it sounds really cliche' but life does go on in spite of the pain and disappointment. The one thing I have learned with age is that is hardship makes us a little stronger and a little wiser and hopefully a little more cautious the next time. Hope things get better soon.

Rainbows,
Rita
