Forgive us Father,
as we forgive you.
Forgive us Father,
even though you already do.
Forgive us Father,
we murder thousands a day.
Forgive us Father,
the rich make the poor pay.
Forgive us Father,
our hearts have turned unkind.
Forgive us Father,
to ourselves we became blind.
Forgive us Father,
millions of children go unfed.
Forgive us Father,
millions of children are dead.
Forgive us Father,
we pollute that which gives us life.
Forgive us Father,
we did not know she was your wife.
Forgive us Father,
we decorate our bodies through pain.
Forgive us Father,
we desecrate our temples in vain.
Forgive us Father,
we give our offerings to the beast.
Forgive us Father,
we join him in the nightly feast.
Forgive us Father,
confused by corruption of chuch.
Forgive us Father,
the harlot revealed if you search.
Forgive us Father,
this world has become insane.
Forgive us Father,
we do all this in your good name.
Forgive us Father,
we know not what we do.
Forgive us Father,
we did not mean to judge you.
Forgive us Father,
as we forgive you.
Forgive us Father,
even though you already do.

Jason, this is excellent, just amazes me, but I confess I may not fully understand every line.
Our world,....humanity, disappoints me, too. I was naive enough to think there was more honorable human beings than there were a few bad guys! 'as we forgive you',,..you are being quite honest with how you blame God, which is good, because He knows it already.
I'm thankful to know quite a few very good people, though no one is perfect in this life. It makes my life tolerable, actually glad to be alive. Your friend, Bizzy |
