These limbs still move,
The fingers still type,
The heart still beat,
Yet, I am dead.

I cannot see how,
For someone so alive
But cannot see the light,
Instead, darkness surrounds.

I do not feel,
The warmth and glow
That radiates from many hearts,
And instead, my tongue chides
And scorns what you call - Love.

I see nothing but emptiness
Of people, of the streets, of the houses,
The dollar bills that fly around,
Or the big posh car driven about.

I hear words, but they are soundless,
For the essence that emits
Just a shaft of icy cold air
That enters my heart- making it bare.

You see me typing,
You see these words,
These big bold letters
That decorate your screen
And you think- what a life I lead
But won't you stop and pause to think
Isn't yours so too?

Alive but dead.
Dead but still walking.
Walking but not feeling.
I am you.
You are me.
