Array ( [sid] => 3936 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Where Were You? [time] => 2002-09-17 11:18:18 [hometext] => This was inspired by a lot of the questions following 9-11. [bodytext] => Where were you that day
when the innocent died?
Why didn’t you stop it?
You could at least have tried.

I just can’t understand
how you could have allowed
this horror to happen.
Look at our world now.

Our country’s at war,
so more now must die
to conquer the evil
that would threaten our lives.

Do you sit on your throne
blind to it all?
What must we do?
How many more have to fall?

Have you not heard
your people cry?
Can you do nothing
But watch them all die?

I was there in the plane
that fell short of its mark.
Though people there died,
through them others did not.

I was there in the firemen
who rushed to the site
who sacrificed themselves
that others might survive.

I was there in the people
who flocked to give aid
and gave what they had
the victims to save.

And do not think
that I fail to care,
when my children suffer
I will always be there.

But lest you cease to persist
in fighting yourselves
sorrow is sure
to follow all else.
