Look out! [bodytext] => I wrote this one about six months ago and it is about an ongoing case in Ventura County Courts, that deals with whether or not a 200 million dollar real estate corp. polluted the groundwaters in Oxnard Ca. and is hiding this fact in an attempt to avoid liability, that could run in the tens of millions.)

The truth saw lie in court one day.
The lie saw truth as well.
They didn't talk, or stop to gawk.
Both simply walked away.

But they both knew,
both lie and true,
that a day was up ahead
When they would meet,
and both would speak,
of things that must be said.

On that day,
what both would say,
would differ down the line. For both would claim,
that truth's their name. This both would swear and sign.

Then by and by,
both truth and lie,
in silence side by side.
Would await to hear their fate.
Now tell me,
Which am I?

If you would know,
then you should go.
To this court on that day.
Learning who is who.
One lie. One true.
And which is led away. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 31 [informant] => rhymeandreason [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

Okay now that I have no nails left after biting them with anxiety...waiting to see what was going to happen only to be teased! Gosh what a cliffhanger. An excellent write and I want to know who won---truth or lie? I beg for a follow-up! Kie

Years ago I believed in our judicial system. I don't any longer. It has nothing to do with truth or lies, it only has to do with who has the most money and can afford the most cunning lawyers. Truth just doesn't live in the halls of judice any more. Sad.

Rita

I agree with what Rita said ( about the judicial system). I think this was a good write. I throughly enjoyed the read. ; 0 )
